Hello everyone,
i am in the process of appealing my insurance company’s decision to cut off therapy services to my son due to his “maxing out his benefit of 30 visits per year”. We are now at the point where the hearing is this week. I have continuiously told them (in writing) that they are breaking the new autism law, and that my son meets all of the criteria in conformance with this law, including our renewal date requirements. My feeling is that they will continue to deny him, using up all of the allowable review days, until the new benefit year starts, at which point we have to pay all of the out of pocket monies again. In the meantime, he is missing services he needs. Has anyone else run into this issue with their insurance company where they are blatantly breaking the law? If so, have you had any success? I would appreciate any help anyone can offer.
