3rd Annual Double Denim Bar Crawl
Chicagoland Bar Crawlers aimed their fundraising efforts towards Autism Speaks while poking fun at an outdated fashion trend.
For the third consecutive year, the Double Denim Bar Crawl mocked denim fashion, because a jean jacket paired with jeans is just too excessive. For the first year, the DDBC partnered with the Chicagoland Chapter of Autism Speaks to raise money and awareness for Autism.
On April 9th, 170 Denim-Wearing Bar crawlers made it to 5 different bars in the Wrigleyville, Chicago neighborhood. Acid-washed jackets, jean shorts, overalls and various denim accessories were spotted throughout the crowd, which managed to raise $2200 and have a radical time doing so.
Contests included Kiddie Cocktail Races, a Double Denim Dance Off and Denim Fashion Awards (such as Denim Princess and Best Double Denim). Over $1000 in raffle prizes were awarded as well.
If you’d like more information, or would like to sponsor/donate/partner with the DDBC next year, please contact the Denim King himself, Ben Warner, at BJ-Warner@Comcast.net.
