Ryan Sheckler and etnies Skate For A Cause
“Growing up, my neighbor had autism. My travels have taken me all over the world and I’ve seen that every community is affected by autism. I was shocked to find out that 1 in 91 children had autism. After seeing the collaborative shoe that Etnies did for Autism Speaks I knew it would be a perfect fit for Autism Speaks to be the beneficiary for our annual Skate for a Cause event.”
The Sheckler Foundation’s Skate for a Cause is a family friendly event that combines a world class skate jam with a carnival. We have invited the top names in skateboarding to participate in this unique skate event that will benefit the Autism Speaks Foundation. The Sheckler Foundation’s 2nd annual SKATE FOR A CAUSE event, benefiting Autism Speaks, will be on May 14, 2011 at the etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest. Running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., SKATE FOR A CAUSE will include four best trick contests and a skateboard carnival village with games and activities.
The total prize purse for the best trick contests is $15,000, with $4,000 for the CCS best trick on tranny, $4,000 on the Red Bull tech center, $4,000 on the Power Balance stairs, rails and hubba section and $3,000 on the Ball Park SkaterCross.
